​I, too, sing America

I am the honest daughter
they ask me what I believe
when hard times come
but I don't know
and ask myself
where the truth is

tomorrow
I'll have my answer
when they ask again
nobody'll question
my honesty
"the truth will be revealed"
as always

Besides
They'll see my honest heart
and see the core

I, too, am America
